What is mastering?
Mastering, or more accurately premastering, is the process by which all audio data (for audio CDs/ DVDs) from the mix are put together and made into an album.
This premaster goes to the CD / DVD press, where it is used to create a production master (also called a glassmaster). Copies of the production master can then be made in whatever quantity is required.
Mastering is done using the international standard known as the “K-System”. RMS and peak scales for the best possible sound aesthetics. This international system enables me to prevent your music getting caught up in the “I've got the loudest CD” mania.
